Desde este ahora. Encounters on Infrastructures and Work Processes of Artistic Residencies<\/em> is an event that took place on December 27 and 28, 2023, at Cal Gras (Aviny\u00f3), organized by Hablar en Arte + Idensitat + La Escocesa to reflect on accompanying practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For two days, from DU-DA, we proposed a series of dynamics to activate a space for common thought and feeling regarding the processes and conditions of support in residency programs and spaces. This gave rise to some questions that we tried to answer from the situated experiences of each individual. How to think of a residency not as a service but as a collaborative practice? How to reconcile the tension between residency timelines and the art’s productivity-driven ecosystem that seeks concrete results? How to ensure that programs are not limited by extremely hierarchical governance? How to decode and generate manuals of best practices?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also invoked the inspiring presence of Carolina Campos with an oracle that we constructed from her wonderful text Interrogar el acompa\u00f1ar<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the second meeting following the first one that took place in Loeches (Madrid)<\/a>, where some pressing issues of residency programs were addressed, such as intersectionality, cross-border mobility, anticapacitism, access issues, and challenges related to parenting and work-life balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
